Standing five and a half inches tall on a handsome footed base, the Wedding Egg is ivory Limoges porcelain decorated with intricate gold leaf borders consisting of arabesques and shields that repeat the motif of the footed base. The apex of the Egg is capped in gold and the clasp is an interesting variation of the Romanov Double Headed Eagle. Open, the Egg displays a 1.5 inch tall bridle couple in their wedding finery. The figure and the plinth on which it stands is 24 karat gold plate over sterling silver.
