In the softest most delicate green, umbered from palest to deepest shades, a technique is used on this egg that I have never before seen used in the painting of Limoges Eggs, and I have seen a few Limoges Eggs in my time.* The floral design is also done in a technique not commonly used in Limoges painting; it has had an antique glaze placed over it, making it look as though from an earlier age. Beautiful doesn't begin to describe how lovely this Egg is. Open it and the surprise inside is a bouquet of jonquils, the petals done in a pale tinted crystal and the center of the flower done in sterling silver plated in 24 karat gold. The plinth is stamped Fabergé with the edition number. The clasp is the Romanov Double Eagle.
